Dance Classes
OUR DANCE CLASSES ARE BASED ON AN ELITE CURRICULUM STRUCTURE WHICH INCLUDES THE ADAPT, ACROBATIC ARTS, DISCOVER DANCE AND ALIXA FLEXIBILITY SYLLABI REPERTOIRES.
JUMPS + TURNS
The dancer’s of today are expected to have more ‘tricks’ in their repatriate of dance vocabulary than ever before. In this class, our professional instructors will dive deep into the specific techniques of jazz dancing as it relates to the elements of Jumps, Turns as well as various kicks and extensions. This class is important to the development of a competitive dancer, but also can provide more time in the studio for the recreational dancer who is seeking more out of their dance training
CONDITIONING & FLEXIBILITY
Join our "Conditioning & Flexibility Class" led by personal trainer Joanna Nassif, featuring the Alixa Flexibility method—a winning formula for our dancers. This class strengthens team bonds while helping dancers achieve their fitness and dance goals. Focusing on strength, flexibility, and cardio, the program emphasizes a safe, healthy, and body-positive approach. With Joanna’s expert guidance, dancers will build a strong foundation to prevent injuries and learn to design their own dance-specific training routines to practice outside of class.
TAP DANCE
Tap students are trained through the Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers (ADAPT), which progresses through a series of graded levels. Each level focuses on a specific set of techniques appropriate to the developing dancer. Tap dance is a style that focuses on rhythm and musicality.
HIP HOP DANCE
In the Hip Hop Program, dancers will explore a range of street and social dance forms such as: breaking, footwork, house, waving, and more. This program will engage dancers in understanding the history of hip hop. They will learn about its origin, evolution, instrumental figures and their contributions to the hip hop dance community. Dancers will continue to build their musicality, strength, freestyle skills and sense of community, while being encouraged to explore and celebrate the power of their own voice, creative expression, and style.
MUSICAL THEATRE
Our Musical Theatre Program is designed with age-appropriate theatre material, improvisation and use of movement to create a production piece with an emphasis on storytelling and character development. Two instructors are involved within this class to create the ultimate Musical Theatre experience. All classes will learn to dance, and act their routines for a live audience.
LYRICAL DANCE
Immerse yourself in the expressive world of Lyrical Dance, where each movement becomes a poetic expression of emotions, weaving a captivating story inspired by the power of lyrics. Our Lyrical classes combine the graceful precision of ballet with the dynamic energy of jazz, creating a unique and powerful blend that transcends traditional dance steps. To be eligible for Lyrical classes, dancers are required to participate in both ballet and jazz, ensuring they have the foundational skills needed to fully explore the synergy between movement and storytelling. Join us as we turn lyrics into dance and create narratives that move both the body and the soul.
ACRO DANCE
Our classes follow the Acrobatic Arts Syllabus, giving dancers the chance to develop their acrobatics skills, including tricks and balancing techniques. With our qualified and certified instructors, we prioritize safety and ensure that dancers maintain proper alignment throughout their training. As they advance through graded levels, dancers will also have the opportunity to participate in Examinations to move to the next stage of their training.
CONTEMPORARY DANCE
In the Contemporary Program, dancers will connect to their full body through exploring elements of modern dance, floor work, improvisation, developing skills for composition/choreography and more. Classes will focus on building strength and grounding movement through an athletic and energetic approach. Dancers will continue to create and develop their own artistic voices through a supportive, respectful and empowering atmosphere.
JAZZ DANCE
Jazz students are trained through the Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers (ADAPT), which progresses through a series of graded levels. Each level focuses on a specific set of techniques appropriate to the developing dancer. Jazz dancing offers a high energy dance form incorporating jumps, turns, flexibility and style. This genre encourages development in co-ordination, strength and performance. Dancers will work towards taking their examination in the Spring.
BALLET DANCE
Through this classical form, and by promoting a safe, healthy, and body positive approach, dancers will focus on the foundations of ballet technique, musicality, precision, building flexibility and strength. Dancers will develop the understanding of the history and terminology connected to Ballet through fun, innovative and age-appropriate classes.From barre work, to centre practice and moving across the floor, each class will lead opportunities for individual creative expression and development.
PRE-DANCE
Step into the magical world of dance with our Pre-Dance Classes, specially designed for dancers aged 3-4 years! These classes provide a playful and nurturing environment where little ones can explore movement, rhythm, and creativity. Using the Discover Dance Syllabus, our experienced instructors lead age-appropriate activities that develop coordination, motor skills, and a sense of rhythm. These sessions are more than just learning steps—they lay the essential foundation for all dance styles. Young dancers are guided through foundational movements, giving them the tools to choose their preferred dance style as they grow. Please note that a parent or guardian is required to drop off their child for these classes.
PARENT + DANCER
Introduce your little one to the joy of dance with our specially designed classes for children aged 18 months to 3 years, using the Discover Dance Syllabus. These classes offer a nurturing environment where toddlers can explore movement, rhythm, and creativity, all while developing important motor skills and coordination. A parent or guardian is required to be present during the class to share in the experience. We also suggest bringing a nut-free snack for a socialization break halfway through the session, allowing both children and parents to connect and enjoy the experience together.
